This paper presents a fully-packaged 8mm3 ultrasonic interrogated IPNS. It achieves optimal stimulation efficiencies across a broad range of ISTIM by 1) proposing a charge-pump (CP) based closed-loop dynamic supply generator, free of multi-ratio linear regulation, improving overall stimulation efficiency without bulky off-chip components; 2) unlocking a reconfigurable CP array to effectively extend the optimal stimulation efficiency range. The proposed IPNS also adopts a chargebalanced, symmetrical biphasic stimulus waveform with tunable amplitudes, widths, and frequencies to accommodate various application needs.
本文提出了一种全封装式的8立方毫米超声波触发植入式周围神经刺激器(IPNS)。该设备通过两项关键技术实现宽刺激电流范围(ISTIM)下的最优刺激效率:1)提出基于电荷泵(CP)的闭环动态供电生成器,无需多比率线性调节即可在无需大体积外置元件的前提下提升整体刺激效率;2)通过解锁可重构CP阵列有效扩展最优刺激效率区间。该IPNS同时采用具有电荷平衡特性的对称双相刺激波形,其幅值、宽度和频率均可调节,以满足不同应用场景的需求。
